Column plates are your choice of securing a column to a beam and the floor. In order to achieve this, every column requires a top and base plate. Each Portland Stone Ware plate has a different way of connecting a column to a beam and the floor for full support.
All of our columns and plates are shipped separately. One end of a column may be cut by the installer in the field to fit the length of space between a beam and the floor.
The Standard Plate is 5” x 5” with small tabs for the top or base of columns. The steel is 10 Gauge.

The Springfield Plate is 6″ x 8″ x 1/4″ thick. It has a welded ring that encompasses the top or base of a 3 ½” or 4” column. There are 7/16″ diameter holes around the welded ring that allow screws to secure the plate to the beam.

The Springfield Plate with Tabs is 6″ x 8″ x 1/4″ thick. The diameter of the holes around the tabs are 7/16″. The large tabs securely grab the top or the base of a column.

This plate is made from 12-gauge low carbon steel to wrap the sides of a beam. Eight 3/16” holes are made into the sides of the saddle for the saddles to be bolted into the beam. A ring made for 3 ½” or 4” columns is welded to the bottom of the saddle. It comes in different size saddles to fit different beams.

The 6” Springfield Plate has a welded ring that encompasses the top or the base of a 6” column. The plate dimensions are 7″ x 8″ x 1/4″ with 1/2″ diameter holes in each corner.
