John T. Winslow purchases Portland Stone Ware which manufactured clay pottery, jugs and pots for food storage out of their factory in Portland, Maine
Capitalizing on the factory’s capacity, Winslow began manufacturing Vitrified Salt-Glazed sewer pipe and firebrick and introduced mechanical methods.
The Portland Maine factory is destroyed by fire and Winslow immediately rebuilds and begins to shift focus to pipe and firebrick.
Willis Frank Clark joins PSW as an owner and manager of their new Boston sales office and PSW becomes one of the largest manufacturers of clay sewer pipes in the country.
PSW begins importing cement and expands their ground transportation adding to their fleet.
Ronald A. Schuler joins PSW as a Sales Representative.
The Boston sales office relocates to Cambridge and Ronald A. Schuler is promoted to General Manager.
PSW closes the Portland Maine factory and Ronald Shuler Sr. purchases Portland Stone Ware from the Winslow-Clark family.
PSW expands into nail distribution and develops a method to manufacture house columns using cement that launches PSW’s Portland Concrete Filled Columns.
Schuler’s children, Donna Morgan, Ronald Jr., and Robert joins PSW full time and begin distributing stone products to diversify its building material offerings.
The Cambridge warehouse is damaged by fire and is rebuilt.
PSW continues to grow as a result of product line and distribution expansion and moves from Cambridge to Dracut, Massachusetts.
Ronald Schuler Sr. passed away after three decades of working alongside his children and they assume ownership and the company continues expansion.
